Hitting the Beach in Style
The snow is coming down in the Pacific Northwest, but the sun is still shining in Miami where I am currently taking a belated winter vacation. I plan on hitting the beach a bit later this afternoon. As South Beach is a pretty trendy area I need to make sure that I look stylish before I head out the door.
I recently bought a colorful print sarong to wear, so I’ll mostly wear that paired with a floppy hat. DG sunglasses in purple are also a must. The only thing left to decide is footwear and jewelry. Who knew having a low-key day at the beach would be a much more labor intensive affair?
Convention Koozies
This summer I traveled to a sales convention in Colorado. Booths were set up in one of the conference rooms for those sales offices that wanted to make their convention swag available for purchase. Most offices’ booths featured clever t-shirts or trading pins.
My favorite convention swag had to be the bottle koozies . T-shirts and pins are nice, but it would only be socially acceptable to wear them in convention settings. Koozies can be used all year round for many occasions, including football tailgates, backyard barbecues, or simply while sipping a hot or cold beverage in the office.
Men’s Odd Collection Of Things
There are quite a few things about men that women just don’t grasp. One of the many things is their odd collection of things. We call them things, because again we don’t understand the obsession. Men will have a wide variety of things from bottle caps to car memorabilia. It amazes me how they hold their collection in such high regards as if they were children.
I knew this one man that has such the collection of logo koozies that it was quite impressive. It was hard for me to admit, but it was quite the collection. He had made it is hobby to find every single koozie that had a logo on it. There was no two the same. After long thought I decided that maybe, just maybe the things that men collect is not any different as women with shoes and handbags, maybe.
Die Hard Fans From Head To Toe
When you are a die hard fan of sports there is nothing that you won’t do to show the world that you are a dedicated fan. There is no such thing as going over board. This becomes relevant when football season comes around. Don’t me wrong there are all types of fans out there for every sport, but when it comes to the NFL that’s when the true fans come out of the word work.
You come quite aware of this fact when you are at home watching a game and all of a sudden the camera man pans around the audience and it seems that 50% of the people are painted head to toe with their favorite team. They even go as far as wearing hats. NFL fans are so dedicated that NFL sunglasses have even appeared. Don’t be crass in judgment of these fans they command respect.
NFL And NCAA Can Be One And The Same
The NFL has a huge fan base. There is so much merchandise that fans from all over the country can purchase. When you are a fan of any sport you know that showing your team spirit can go hand in hand. This is true with any sports association.
The National Collegiate Athletic Association is no different. You can be graduated from college for years, but still be as big of a fan as if you were still attending. NCAA merchandise is just as huge as NFL merchandise. Showing your true team spirit is not limited to just seasonal professional sports.
New Inventions But Still The Same
Throughout the years there have been many different types of gadgets and inventions that have been designed to make peoples lives easier. The one invention that still amazes me to this day is the koozie. With all the high tech appliances and inventions that are coming out, the koozie is the one invention that has stayed.
A beverage koozie is a holder that keeps your drinks cold. It is an insulated barrier that is around your drink. The condensation is kept to a minimum. They are best used in warm weather to keep your drinks cold. It eliminates your hands from becoming slippery and from creating rings that can be left on your furniture.
Gift Baskets for Men
It is easier to find gifts for women than men. Gift choices for men are somewhat limited. Finding a gift for a business associate or for a boss can be challenging because you may not know what they like or dislike, but yet you would, of course, want them to appreciate your gift.
Instead of thinking of that one perfect gift, why not give an assortment of gifts instead? There are gift baskets for men that contain manly stuff such as NFL gifts, cigars, chocolates, gourmet canned food, and much more. The packaging can be designed to fit men, too. Instead of the frilly feminine versions with lots of ribbons, men’s baskets are adorned with simplicity.
Ready for some SEC play
I am looking forward to another weekend of SEC football! This weekend my Razorbacks take on last years national champs…the Auburn Tigers. Luckily we are playing at Razorback stadium with a 6 o’clock kick-off!
This gives me plenty of time to fire up the grill, get the beer on ice and get game time ready with all of our NCAA merchandise! There is nothing better than getting all our friends and family together for these exciting SEC games!
Happy Birthday to you!
Today is my brothers birthday. I hope he enjoys the gift I sent…I had a box of his favorite cigars shipped to him. I just hope they arrive in time for the weekend!
He has been under tremedous stress like most of us have been lately. I just hope he gets them in time for the weekend so he can kick-back, relax, light up a cigar with a cold beer in his koozie and fire up the grill. There is no better way to unwind from a stressful week at work!
Forts In The Living Room
My sister and I loved making forts in the living room. We loved using all the tables and blankets that we could get our hands on. I don’t think that my mother was too thrilled when her living room looked like fort knox.
When Christmas came, my sister and I found two play tents in the front room already set up for us. We were so excited. The kid’s tents were a perfect gift for us. They where light weight and easily packable. Hours and hours of play time. Our mother was able to maintain her living room, and knew her blankets were intact.
