Island in The Sun

In the corner of my kitchen sits a glass bowl that is halfway full of colorful beer bottle caps. I’m saving them for a project years in the making. My best friend, Jennifer, wants to create a one-of-a-kind beer pong table using the caps as the table top.

Once she has enough caps, she plans on creating a mosaic on top of her handmade wooden beer pong table. When the cap mosaic is complete she’ll pour clear resin on top to keep the caps in place, fill in the cracks, and thus provide a smooth hard surface to play beer pong on. I’ve put my koozies can cooler on top of my glass bowl so I remember every time I open a new bottle to hold onto the cap.
